Side Effect

Side Effect is a visual novel-style game, developed in Twine, which aims to deliver a story rich in detail and with several options for paths to follow. At first, the focus of the project will be on introducing the main characters and building the basic relationships between them and their possible conflicts. In this story you will play a complex man, a writer and former literature teacher who now co-owns and administers the prestigious Riverton High School.
In Riverton, a vibrant yet quaint city, you, at 44 years old, are emerging from the shadows of a debilitating eight-year depression. Thanks to a groundbreaking experimental medication, you find yourself reinvigorated, ready to reclaim the life that once slipped through your fingers. From a shadow of your former self, you are now filled with a newfound zest for life—and an unexpected side effect: an insatiable desire that seems to have awakened after years of dormancy.
