This wasn’t a decision made lightly, but one that comes after recent challenges connected to an ongoing issue between Itch.io and the activist group Collective Shout.For those who may not know, Collective Shout has been vocal in pushing platforms like Itch.io to take stronger stances on content moderation, particularly around adult or controversial games. While we fully support efforts to create safer spaces online, the resulting pressure on Itch.io has created an environment where many smaller, independent developers like us are caught in the crossfire. Certain games—including ours—were flagged, restricted, or placed under heavier scrutiny without much transparency.Rather than allow this situation to slow down our momentum or place barriers between our work and the players who want to experience it, we’ve decided to remove the price tag altogether. Making the game free is both a statement and a solution: a way to ensure that everyone who is curious about our project can still access it regardless of what happens behind the scenes.This shift is also about community. Independent games thrive because of the people who play them, talk about them, and share them with others.
